Tour de Delta
Way to go Glotman-Simpson girls!!! Racing with the Glotman-Simpson Cycling Team. We raced really well- great effort on the TT, awesome team work at the crit, and we all survived the road race today- for better or worse. Still holding out for overall individual and team results.
15th 3k Time Trial Prologue (Fri, July 10th)
13th Criterium- 36k (Sat, July 11th)
22nd Road Race- 88k (Sun, July 12th)
I still have so much to learn- like not "riding like a triathlete" and putting in too much effort at the front of the pack. The time trial could've used some better cornering technique. The crit was well executed- looking back at last year's White Rock Crit I am much more comfortable in the pack and cornering at high speeds. Got in some good attacks in the road race and felt surprisingly fresh going into the last lap (the easy pace up the hill for the 11th time was a blessing). Unfortunately my attack close to the finish took a toll on my legs, and the quads were like bricks trying to pick it up for the final sprint.
I have to admit, despite an OK performance I was pretty down on myself. Thankfully my team mates are quite helpful in keeping things in positive and helping me see things in perspective (like this is only my 3rd road race and I haven't really done any intensity on the bike this year due to the various injuries....). A week of rest and the Tour de White Rock next weekend!
