Athletic background Competitive swimmer from age 9-12, horseback riding from age 9-18. Ran my first Fun Run with my parents at age 5. Dabbled in high school cross-country and track and field (hurdles). Started running again during graduate school, training for marathon (Berlin 2004, Boston 2005) and half-marathon distances. Did my first triathlon in early 2006 and haven't looked back!
